The city developed from the 19th century thanks to its textile industry and the construction of a modern port at the beginning of the 20th century, making it the economic capital of Morocco. Optional entrance to the Hassan II Grand Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture of the modern era. Free time for lunch and continuation of the trip to Marrakech. Dinner and lodging. We recommend (optional): Night visit to Djemáa el Fná Square, one of the largest and liveliest squares in the world, a meeting place for acrobats, storytellers, snake charmers, dancers and musicians. Breakfast. Monumental and historical tour of Marrakech, imperial city founded a thousand years ago by the Almoravid dynasty at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Breakfast and continuation to Rabat to visit the capital of the kingdom, located on the Atlantic coast. A great city designed in 1195 by the Almohad sultan Yaqub al-Mansur and promoted by the Moors expelled from Spain in 1610. In 1666 it was taken by the Alawites, a dynasty that has ruled Morocco until today. Brief panoramic view and monumental visit: exteriors of the Royal Palace, place of residence of the current Alaouite monarch Mohamed VI, the mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Tour Hassan, an unfinished mosque that was supposed to surpass the Giralda in Seville and the Koutubia in Marrakech. After the visit, we will continue our trip to Ceuta, where we will embark for Algeciras and later transfer to points of origin.
