Complete Description

Royal Alcazar Seville Cathedral and Giralda

Royal Alcazar Seville Cathedral and Giralda, our guided walk begins with the discovery of the Santa Cruz neighborhood, the old Jewish quarter, a labyrinth formed by narrow streets that leads to the famous Plaza de los Venerables.Accompanied by an official guide, we will access in depth the history of Seville through its most important monuments, the different architectural styles.
Next, it is the turn of the two most precious monuments in the city:

The Royal Alcazar Seville Cathedral and Giralda.

For the visit, our guide will manage the tickets avoiding long delays and improving the quality of your visit.

The Royal Alcázar de Sevilla is a set of palaces surrounded by a wall, where different styles (Islamic-Mudejar and Gothic) were used. In successive renovations, Renaissance and Baroque elements were added. This place is normally used as a place of accommodation for the Spanish Royal House, being the oldest royal palace in Europe, as registered by Unesco.

These are a group of the most recognized royal palaces in the world, for their beauty, architectural details and history. The Arab is the oldest royal palace that we can find. At the moment, it remains the residence of the Spanish Royal Family on their visits to the city of Seville. Its lush pavilions, rooms and gardens leave no one indifferent. For many, the “Real Alcázar de Sevilla” (Real Alcázar de Sevilla) was the scene of shootings enshrined as the famous television series “Game of Thrones” and is one of the oldest in Europe.
After the visit, we will proceed to the monument that is just in front, the Cathedral of Sevilla and the Giralda, for the visit with the guide.

Visit to Seville Cathedral
The construction was carried out after the demolition of the old Mosque of Aljama in Seville. The minaret, the current Giralda and its famous Patio de los Naranjos are preserved from the original construction. It is located next to the Archives of the Indies, the Reales Alcázares and the famous Bairro de Santa Cruz.

For more than 150 years, Christians used the Muslim temple as a center of worship and it was in 1401 when the cathedral council decided to build a new temple. The works lasted until the 15th century, until 1506. According to tradition, the canons wanted to make a church so big “that whoever saw it finished would drive us crazy”.

In the Renaissance era, several outbuildings attached to the Gothic temple were rebuilt, such as the Sacristy, the Chapter House or the Royal Chapel. The last part of the Giralda was also built, with the help of Hernán Ruíz, who, with a height of 104 meters, is visible from all points of the city and is currently an emblematic monument of Seville in which the body of bells.

During our guided tour, our official guide will accompany you to discover all the secrets and history of this magnificent architectural ensemble. We will discover the secrets hidden inside, like the tomb of Christopher Columbus or the largest altarpiece in the Christian world.

Visit Giralda the Sevilla

After visiting  the Cathedral, we will proceed to the last stage, the famous Giralda, which is a minaret with 33 ramps that offers us the most beautiful views of the city. Our guide will show you the way up and say goodbye to the group. From there, you will have free time to photograph and enjoy the city of Sevilla from above. In addition to observing the huge bells that make up the structure of the Giralda.
Upon descending the minaret, you can, if you wish, continue inside the Cathedral enjoying the monument and still see the Patio de los Naranjos.
