Tourism in Tangier: guide of Tourist Places in the city of Tangier
Tangier is one of the most visited cities in northern Morocco. It was an international city. Artists and personalities from all over the world have lived there.
Due to its proximity to Spain, Morocco is a destination that is very easy to reach when you are in Spain. Therefore, there is good communication between Tangier and Andalusia (the southern region of Spain). Ferries arrive every two hours from Tarifa (Cadiz), which makes the trip fast and beautiful. the crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar takes only one hour.
What to do in Tangier?

Medina, Tangier’s medina is relatively small compared to the size of the city, as Tangier is the largest city in northern Morocco and the gateway for many tourists visiting the country by ferry from southern Spain.
Tangier Medina

Café Paris: I love this place, a mythical place in Tangier, the Café Paris was the scene of movies like The Bourne Ultimatum. Meeting place for spies in the 1930s, during the Cold War and the espionage era. Upon entering, you will notice the ambiance (now decadent) but with vestiges of what it once was. Upon entering you will notice that you are in a place from the 30’s and 40’s that has barely changed.
Cape Espartel and the Caves of Hercules
A visit to Tangier is completed by visiting these two places. It is a very beautiful lighthouse where you can enjoy the ocean with beautiful views of the place (there is a cafeteria/restaurant where you can eat) and the caves that were renovated in 2016 is a good place where you will see the rock. Formations that made the sea take the shape of the map of the African continent! from 2023 you will have to pay 6 euros per person to enter.
To reach these places it is necessary to go by car, as it is on the outskirts of the city, it is a natural area also known as Tangier Natural.
Camel riding in Tangier
The region of Cape Spartel and the Caves of Hercules are ideal for a camel ride. Near the road you will see the camels and you can take a few minutes ride (practically to take a picture on top of a camel) or you can pay to be taken to the beach below and reserve it. But you can take a camel ride in Tangier, near the cape Espartel and the caves of Hercules there are spectacular and cinematic beaches. If you wish, you can rent camels that will take you to the beach for a pleasant half-hour ride. It’s worth it ! The views are incredible. It’s a movie set!
CITY BEACHES
In addition to the beach in the center of Tangier (the entire promenade was rebuilt in 2016), there are also beautiful beaches in Tangier. Unfortunately, it does not have the infrastructure that you find in countries like Spain or Brazil itself. Women (by religion) don’t wear bikinis and hardly shower, so going to a beach in Morocco makes you less attractive.
It is really nice to walk there on a spring or summer day. There are some restaurants across the street, they are very good.
Where to stay in Tangier? Depending on the type of traveler you are, you will have a wide range of hotels to choose from. There are hotels that are closer to the center and hotels that are located on the seafront.
How to get to Tangier from Spain?

Trains – Ave has arrived in Tangier and the trip to Casablanca takes only 2:00 hours.

Well I explain you how are the ferries from Spain to Tangier.
The port is located in the city of Tangier. It is called PORT OF TANGER VILLE. Departure to this destination is through PORTO TARIFA in Spain. Currently, there are two companies that operate this route. FRS and each with its own schedules and prices.
In 2015 began the activity of a new Port : Tanger MED mainly cargo and large as the port of Algeciras is located 40 minutes from Tangier, in the middle of nowhere.
That’s why some shipping companies offer very cheap Fast Ferry tickets to Tangier MED, but beware, when you arrive it will be a disaster to go to Tangier. Unless you have hired a private transfer service, you will have no problem.
