Departure on Fridays with transfers from Seville, Jerez, Malaga and Costa del Sol
Our weekend trips start on Friday afternoons. We will leave Andalusia in the direction of Algeciras . Board the ferry boat to the city of Ceuta. Upon arrival, accommodation and departure to Tetouan. Transfer to the selected hotel, dinner and accommodation.
Trip to Morocco Rif 3 days
Day 2 – Tetouan – Tangier – Tetouan
Breakfast and visit of Tetouan, capital of the Spanish “protectorate” until 1956 and the most Andalusian city in Morocco, also known as “La Paloma Blanca” . Visit of the medina and some of its most characteristic souks and markets , with time for shopping. Through the Jewish quarter or mellah we will reach Plaza Hassan II, where the Royal Palace is located. conversely
Through boulevards and cafes dating back to the time of the protectorate. Typical Moroccan lunch enlivened with folklore of the region, and once finished continuation to Tangier .
Trip to Morocco Rif 3 days
Visit of this ancient city dominated by various peoples throughout its history, and declared an international city for much of the middle of the 20th century. Today it is the economic-administrative capital of the northern region of Morocco, and an important and cosmopolitan business center: panoramic view of the modern city by coach: Pasteur Boulevard, France Square and the diplomatic quarters.
Next we will visit Cape Espartel , with spectacular views over the Strait of Gibraltar, and where you will have the opportunity to ride camels and visit the caves of Hercules and its famous Gate of Africa , formed by the erosion of the sea. After the visit, return to Tetouan, transfer to selected hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
* The entrance to the caves of hercules requires a payment of +6 euros per person. It is not included in the trip.
Day 3 – Tetouan – Chaouen and return to the point of origin
Breakfast and continuation of the trip to Chaouen , located in a valley in the Rif mountain range. Its name, which means “horns” in the Rif dialect, alludes to the two mountain peaks visible from the city, founded in 1471 by exiled Muslims and Jews from Al-Andalus. These imitated the narrow and irregular layout of the Andalusian towns, and whitewashed their houses in shades of blue, a custom that is preserved by its current inhabitants.
There will be a walking tour beginning with the exteriors of the Alcazaba and the octagonal mosque, located in the Uta Hammam square and crossing the entire medina we will go up to the Ras Al-Ma spring, to the north and beyond the walls that surround it.
This spring supplies water to the innumerable fountains scattered throughout the town.
At the end of the visit, lunch and then free time to enjoy the city at your leisure and do your shopping. At the time indicated by the guide, we will return to our coach to make the transfer back to Ceuta. Boarding back to Algeciras and transfer to points of origin.
