Itinerary of our Getaway to Morocco

DAY 1

Transfers by coach or minibus from different points of origin in Andalusia towards Algeciras. Reception by our staff at the Port and crossing by high-speed boat to Ceuta. Upon arrival, accommodation in coach and border formalities. Continuation to M’Diq or Tetouan. Transfer to the selected hotel, dinner and accommodation.

DAY 2

Breakfast and visit of Tetouan, capital of the Spanish “protectorate” until 1956 and the most Andalusian city in Morocco, also known as “La Paloma Blanca”.

Crossing boulevards and cafes that date back to the time of the Protectorate, we will access the medina to visit some of its most characteristic souks and markets, with time for shopping. Through the Jewish quarter or mellah we will reach Plaza Hassan II, where the Royal Palace is located.

Typical Moroccan lunch enlivened with folklore from the region, and once finished continuation to Tangier.

Visit of this ancient city dominated by various peoples throughout its history, and declared an international city for much of the middle of the 20th century.

Today it is the economic-administrative capital of the northern region of Morocco, and an important and cosmopolitan business center: panoramic view of the modern city by coach: Pasteur Boulevard, France Square and the diplomatic quarters.

Then we will visit Cape Espartel, with spectacular views over the Strait of Gibraltar, and where you will have the opportunity to ride camels and visit the caves of Hercules (optional entrance direct payment 6 Euros per person) and its famous Gate of Africa, formed by the sea erosion. After the visit, return to Tetouan, transfer to selected hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

DAY 3

Breakfast and continuation of the trip to Chauen, located in a valley in the Rif mountain range. Its name, which means “horns” in the Rif dialect, alludes to the two mountain peaks visible from the city, founded in 1471 by exiled Muslims and Jews from Al-Andalus. They imitated the narrow and irregular layout of the Andalusian villages, and whitewashed their houses in blue tones, a custom preserved by the current inhabitants.
A walking tour will begin with the exterior of the Alcazaba and the octagonal mosque, located in the Uta Hammam square. After the visit, lunch and free time to enjoy the city at your leisure and do some shopping. At the time indicated by the guide, we will return to our coach to make the transfer back to Ceuta. Boarding back to Algeciras and transfer to points of origin.

Transfer by coach or minibus from different points of origin in Andalusia to Algeciras. Reception by our staff at the Port and high-speed boat trip to Ceuta, a Spanish city in North Africa, one of the mythical pillars of Hercules in the Strait of Gibraltar, where four cultures coexist in harmony: Christians, Muslims, Hebrews and Hindus. The city is located on a small peninsula, and has a wonderful climate and a strong commercial character. Upon arrival, guided tour starting with a bus tour to know the monumental complex of the Royal Walls, the Moat of San Felipe, the Plaza de Africa, and Mount Hacho, from where you can see wonderful views over the city and the Strait of Gibraltar in the Mirador de San Antonio. After the visit, border formalities with the Kingdom of Morocco and continuation to Tetouan, also known as “The White Dove”. In general, the return is usually done on the Ferries at 9:00 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. It depends on the time of year. But you usually arrive at the end of the trip – Algeciras: 1 hour + afternoon to catch the boat | Seville: 4 hours after taking the boat and Malaga Capital 3 hours after taking the boat.

We also do not recommend that you have arranged other transport (flights, bus trips, trains) on the same day of return from your trip to Morocco.

Do I have to change money before traveling to Morocco?

Local currency

If you are going to do an excursion of 1 to 3 days, there is no need to change. If you don’t want to take some dirhams for your personal expenses, you can change in Spain or in the same country.

In Morocco the local currency is the dirham. Very easy to get directly at the time of your trip. Even at the hotel reception or in the exchange houses inside the Medina.

In general, many restaurants and shops accept Euros and dollars.

$ 1 equals about 10 dirharms. Depending on the official course of the day, this can vary downward or upward. Getaway to Morocco

It is also possible to withdraw money from an ATM or pay directly with a credit card, these are perfectly valid activities.

Our cancellation policy is adapted to the new travel times after covid-19.
